On my weekend walks along the Adyar river, I am reminded that some of the most meaningful things are hidden in plain sight. Clarity and possibility often exist right beside our routines, waiting for us to pause and pay attention.
Growth hasn’t come to me through clarity or comfort. It has come through confusion, resistance, and messy stretches I wished away. Like the lotus, what’s strongest in us forms quietly in the mud, long before anything beautiful becomes visible.
This morning, as the sun reflected on the metal railing of my balcony, I paused. That ordinary moment reminded me that leadership is often shaped not by grand events, but by quiet moments that ask for attention rather than urgency.
I’ve learned that waiting for certainty often keeps us stuck. The first step rarely brings answers, but it changes something inside you. Movement replaces hesitation. Experience replaces assumption. And slowly, clarity begins to take shape through action, not anticipation.
Over the years, I’ve seen how learning rarely stops because of failure. It stops because comfort creeps in. Learning fades when curiosity gives way to certainty. Staying alive in work and life means remaining open and adaptable.
I started the year expecting a sunrise by the beach, but was met with a downpour instead. Sitting in the car, I was reminded that leadership is not about controlling conditions, but about staying present when they change.
