I met Sivakumar Palaniappan last evening… and the conversation simply flowed. No posturing. No pretence. Just two people talking honestly about work, life, leadership, mistakes, and lessons.

While sitting around a bonfire during a recent family getaway, I found myself reflecting on leadership. Like a fire, leadership energy needs attention and balance. Not too little. Not too much. Just enough to keep people warm, engaged, and connected.

Filming my Udemy course yesterday forced me to confront something I struggle with. I can speak to large rooms with ease, but a camera unsettles me. I showed up anyway. Because growth often waits on the other side of fear.

I’ve noticed that silence at the top creates noise below. When leaders don’t spell out priorities or intent, teams begin guessing. Assumptions multiply, clarity fades, and confusion fills the space.
